1. Bicycle Crunch : Books on ‘what exercise burns the most belly fat’ also mention about the bicycling crunch. With your hands below the head, slowly raise the shoulder blades and make an attempt to touch the left elbow to your right knee but at the same time make sure that your left leg is straight, making an angle of 45 degrees with the floor. Slowly, lower your shoulders, until they touch the ground. This time try to bring the right elbow in contact with the left knee, by keeping the right leg straight. This method of switching the sides alternately resembles to that of pedaling a bicycle, hence this type of crunch is referred as bicycle crunch. Repeat this alternating motion 15-20 times.

2. Plank : Take a push up position with your elbows and bend your entire body weight resting on your arms. Once your body is positioned in a straight line, hold back your abs for 40 seconds and release it. Rest for 10 to 20 seconds and perform it again. You can repeat this exercise 3 to 4 times.

3. Reverse Crunch : One of the best ab workouts to get rid of belly fat is the reverse crunch. Lie down on a flat bench with your knees bent and your legs raised above. For maximum stability, you can grab the bench with your hands and using your ab muscles, bring the knees closer to the chest. Hold this crunch position for a few seconds and perform 10 to 15 reps in each set.

4. Alternate Knee-In : This is the best ab exercise to get a flat stomach. First, lie down on the floor on your glutes. Keep your legs straight in front of you and support your upper body by resting forearms on the floor. Balance the weight of your upper body on the elbows. Now, squeeze your ab muscles and bring a bend in your left knee. Raise your left leg and try to bring the knee close to the shoulder. After that, straighten your left leg and simultaneously fold the right knee to touch the right shoulder. Continue doing this cyclic movement for 15 times.

Keep in mind that abdominal workouts alone is not the solution to get a flat tummy. These abdominal stretches have to be combined with a rigorous physical activity like swimming or running. Therefore, besides crunches, do not forget to add a cardio workout to your routine in order to burn the most body fat.
